MATCH REPORT | CD Buol 2 CD Torrevieja 3. The first victory!
2016-10-13 12:02:00

Match Report: Jefferson Scott / Photo: Joaquin Carrion.

It was the late, late show in Buñol on Wednesday evening as Torry had to wait until the very end to secure their first win of the new season.

With a quarter of the campaign gone, Torry has much ground to make up, but the signs are positive that this is now possible. Buñol came into this match in confident mood with two wins and a very credible draw against Alzira from their last three matches.

Torry too had a positive mindset, especially as flying winger Pastor had received his paperwork from Australia and was raring to get back into a Torry shirt. It was he who set up the opening goal of the game when he delivered a superb cross from the right, inviting Hugo to head it home, which he did with much enthusiasm.

The Torry lead lasted only five minutes before Buñol levelled the score, then with the interval looming, planted home a second to restore their confidence and put Torry back in the doldrums.

The second half did not look good for the visitors as injury prone Martin suffered another setback and was replaced by teenager Booker, Torry reshuffling the back to try and remain secure as they chased an equaliser.

Vicente was sacrificed for the striker Matheus as Torry battled to find that second goal. With two minutes left on the clock it was Lewis who converted from 12 yards to seemingly give Torry a share of the spoils.

Eager for a first win, Torry mounted a final assault on the Buñol goal with Damian Aguero netting his first goal for the club. This was a battling win with brave performances all over the park. Now a follow up is required on Sunday Muro. It is a 6pm kick off at the Nelson Mandela.
