Day 3 in Group Six. CD Torrevieja vs Orihuela CF
2016-09-04 12:00:00

After our first derby at the Vicente Garcia this week we have been preparing to play the second one of the season, this time at the Nelson Mandela. With a bittersweet taste of defeat in Vila-real and now without Alberto Zapata, we will try to raise our heads and show that anything is possible.

In the Castellon city, we came very close to pulling back a 3-0 deficit. Alberto Zapata himself was responsible for opening the scoring, with Hugo Salamanca scoring our second. Carrasco almost managed the equaliser, but the ball hit the bar. The match ended 3-2 but the feeling is that the team is improving.

In their last game, Orihuela played out a fascinating 3-3 draw with UD Alzira Orihuela has a number of former Elche players, some very young and keen to achieve promotion this term. With mixed results so far, they will want to win in the Nelson Mandela to gain confidence and climb in the rankings.

A mouth watering derby, a competitive football game, but not at our Vicente Garcia sadly. The evenings of football in our 'old' stadium now pass to the Nelson Mandela, starting this Sunday 4 with kick off at 18:30.

This game has been declared as a dia del club, entrance is 12 Euros, but those showing their season ticket for this season will only pay 8 euros.  16 to 21 years will pay 5 Euros and children under 16 years FREE.
