                                                                                    Master Class!

It was a poor mistake that allowed the visitors a clean run on goal to open the scoring a few minutes before half time and send Torry into the dressing room more than a little frustrated. After an inventive opening period where Cesar had gone close and Higon looked menacing, the game had become a little predictable with Rayo shutting the door more effectively as the game wore on. Rayo held the second best defensive record in the group, so it seemed like a massive task to come from behind and win the contest.
The half time anaysis from the manager worked the oracle, especially with the introduction of Sanchez, who brought tenacity and creativitty to the match that the visitors could not handle. Luis Carlos broke down the left fast and crossed perfectly for the alert and goal hungry Lewis to net with confidence. Rayo had nobody able to contain the energetic striker as he out paced them, out jumped them and out thought them.
Sanchez waltzed and bludgeoned his way past three defenders, always keeping the ball under close control. Just as he reached the edge of the box, Lewis commandered the ball and smacked a fierce left foot drive past Marcos in the Rayo goal before he knew what was happening. It was the strike of an accomplished and confident young man who is playing at the top of his game. If he continues to show this desire and committment, as well as focussing on continuous progress, then who knows where he will end up - at a much higher level that division three that's for sure.
Torry rounded off a splendid second half display with a quality goal from just outside the box from the cultured left foot of Suarez. Higon worked tirelessly all afternoon and is a superb siging for the club. The winger battled for the ball and saw Suarez in just the right spot. He laid it on a plate for him and Suarez hit it perfectly with the outside of his left foot to swerve it well away from the keeper but firmly into the back of the net.
Consecutive 3-1 wins for Torry have fans purring with delight but it is what has been expected from the team all season long. Seven players have departed since the start of this term but it now looks as though the penny has dropped and the scoring boots retrived from their hiding places. However, Torry remain in the bottom quarter of the table, a far cry from safety, let alone where they would like to be. Thus, it must be another victory, this time at Jove on Saturday to continue the positive attitude and take everyone into the holidays happy. That will be no mean feat as Jove has won four of their last six, drawn one and only lost away at league leaders Saguntino. They have won their last three at home, where they last tasted defeat in September!
